Scott Carr Web Design builds bespoke, AI-first websites that do real work. They're built to rank at the top of Google, get cited in AI answers from ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude, and turn visitors into customers.
I'm
Scott Carr, and you work with me directly, prototype first, without the agency overhead.
How I build: an idea goes into Claude, Claude writes the code, and I make the expert calls on hosting, performance, SEO and data. Examples: Events Naples, Visit Naples, Naples Electric Bikes and 904 Tents & Events.
Alongside client work, I publish and operate a network of local sites and a rental business. Each one shows something I can build for you, tested with real traffic and real customers.

AI-first platform

Why custom, AI-first
Off-the-shelf sites show information. A custom platform built with frontier AI models does the work: it serves your customers, runs the routine parts of your operation and cuts the costs that pile up in SaaS fees and staff hours.
01
Assistants and search that answer from your own data, and booking that works around the clock.
Ask Visit Naples answers visitors from the guide’s own listings, linking to real places.

Automate the imports, checks and busywork your team does by hand, and stop renting software that doesn’t fit.
Naples Day gathered opening hours for 229 restaurants with Claude, for $3.87.

An AI-first workflow puts a working prototype in front of you early, and it costs less to build.
Visit Naples moved from Craft to an AI-first platform in 23 days.

Typical agency
Working with me
Getting started
Weeks of discovery calls and a needs analysis
✓One focused call, then a clickable prototype
Who you talk to
Account managers, strategists and a rotating team
✓The engineer writing the code
Decisions
A committee on both sides of the table
✓You and me, reacting to a live preview
Timeline
Months before anything ships
✓Working software early, shipped in small steps
Price
Layers of overhead in every hour
✓A lean, AI-assisted build. You pay for the work.
SEO
Sold as an add-on
✓Built in from the first commit
After launch
A new team takes over
✓Same person, start to finish
Step 01
Talk
One call about the problem, the people using it and what success looks like. No RFP, no needs-analysis marathon.
Step 02
Prototype
A working prototype on a live preview link, so you react to real software instead of slides.
Step 03
Build
Features ship in small releases. You see progress as it happens, not at a big reveal.
Step 04
Launch & improve
Go live with SEO built in, then keep improving it with the person who built it.
For scale: the Visit Naples platform went from first commit to live in 23 days.
Websites with real logic behind them: data, bookings, search and AI. This is where engineering, SEO and years of running my own sites come together.
Rapid prototyping
Click through a working version early and refine it with real feedback, instead of debating mockups.
A modern codebase
TypeScript, Next.js or Astro, and Postgres. Clean, current code that is easy to extend.
Fast by default
Lean pages served from the edge, so your site feels instant, even on a phone at the beach.
SEO built in
Structured data, clean URLs and fast pages from the first commit, for search results and AI answers.
Safer by design
No plugin sprawl to patch. Locked-down databases, bot protection and rate limits where they matter.
Working with Scott was a seamless experience. We are very pleased with the design and functionality of our new website. His efforts have also significantly boosted our website's visibility and helped us achieve top search engine rankings.

Charles GroverManaging Director, Acorn Media“I have to tell you again just how positively thrilled I am with the new website. I'm already getting lots of 100% positive feedback from my team. I'm so grateful for how easy you made everything.”
Tony PaganelliFounder, Paganelli Law GroupTemplates and SaaS tools are built for everyone, so they stop where your business gets specific. A custom, AI-first platform can answer customers from your own data, enforce your own rules, automate the routine work your team does by hand, and replace software you pay for every month. Naples Electric Bikes replaced its booking SaaS this way.
My best work is on custom web platforms: booking systems, directories and guides with AI search, data pipelines, multi-brand sites, bespoke web apps and AI-first rebuilds of established sites.
You work directly with the engineer building your project. There are no account managers or hand-offs, and no weeks of discovery calls. We start with one focused call, you see a working prototype early, and the same person keeps improving it after launch.
I build with AI coding tools, which lets one experienced developer do work that used to take a team. You pay for the work, not the overhead. For scale, the Visit Naples platform went from first commit to live in 23 days.
Answer engine optimization (AEO) and generative engine optimization (GEO) are about showing up when people ask ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude or Google's AI answers instead of searching. It builds on good SEO: fast pages, clear answers to real questions, structured data that describes your business, and an llms.txt file that helps AI assistants read your site. Every site I build includes them from the first commit.
A CMS (content management system) is an editor that lets your team change text, photos and pages without a developer. If your content changes often, like weekly specials, news or listings, it's worth it. If it changes a few times a year, a site without one is simpler, faster, more secure and cheaper: you send me the changes and I make them. The project planner below asks about this and prices it either way.
Yes. I build assistants that search your own content and link to real pages, rather than answering from memory, so recommendations point to things you actually offer. "Ask Visit Naples" on visitnaplesfl.com is a live example.
Yes. Every live URL is inventoried, the ones that matter are kept and the rest are redirected, so rankings carry over. Visit Naples and this site both made that move.
No. I'm based in Naples, Florida, and work with clients across the US.

Hi, I'm Scott's AI planner. Tell me what you'd like to build, in a sentence or two. I'll ask a few quick questions, then show you a plan with a price range and timeline next to what an agency would charge. Have a budget in mind? Mention it and I'll plan around it.
AI can make mistakes. Prices come from Scott's own rate table, not the AI. ·
